The Rambling Group is a fellowship of
people who enjoy walking in the countryside. We walk on rights of way
footpaths in Worcestershire, south & west of Birmingham.
We hope that you can continue to join us on our monthly rambles, and perhaps some of you who haven't done so before can share with us the pleasures of wandering around our local countryside. Do come and join us - we usually manage to end the walk with a pub lunch, too! Dave and Jane Walton are, with some trepidation, are taking over responsibility for organizing the monthly walks previously so excellently run by Phil and Ruth Mayhew. The first walk of the new season is planned for Saturday 1st November. The meeting place will be the visitor centre at Waseley Hills at 10.15 am. Toilets are available here. The proposed walk is 3 miles and can be expected to be completed within 2 hours. There are no stiles, but 10 gates. Some parts will be muddy in wet weather and there are two hill sections, one of which is fairly steep The lunch afterwards will be at the Waseley Hills Visitor Centre where they do a "meal of the day" plus a range of sandwiches etc. Can those interested please let us know by Thursday 30th October. telephone: 0121 471 1434 or email to: waltondj50@yahoo.co.uk
