OPEN CIRCLE

open circle logo

Open Circle has been part of Selly Oak Methodist Church, for over 40 years, following the closure of the then 'Young Wives' group, which had started in 1959. As the name implies the Circle is 'open' to all women who wish to join us, whether they belong to our church, another church, or live in the local community.
We are a thriving group of ladies of mixed age range with an average of 35 ladies at each meeting. We meet regularly for most of the year on alternating Wednesday evenings at 7.45 pm in the lounge, where a varied programme takes place providing fellowship, education, fun, and thought provoking subjects. We also provide care and support for each other.
We have a fund raising event during the year which enables us, with other funds, to donate to various local charities i.e. Edwards Trust, Whizz kids, Leukaemia Research.

New members are always welcome, so 'why not come along and join us.'

The Annual General Meeting of Open Circle was held on Wednesday 7th September 2011

Open Circle had a successful year and all members had participated in its success.  Our evenings were well attended and we had a varied and interesting programme.

We held two fund raising events during the year to raise funds for charity; the Bacon Buttie morning in October and the cake and coffee morning in February.

The meeting agreed that this year our donations should go to:

 Acorns Children’s Hospice £400          Whizz Kidz   £300

Selly Oak Methodist Church       £800

The committee for the coming year is:

President       Margaret Heath

                 Secretary       Valerie Stanley

                 Treasurer       Maureen Osborne

Members:       Eunice Evans.                       Doreen  Higgs

Janet Longmore                   Sue Pile

Pam Turner                             Angela Wilde

We look forward to another year of friendship and fellowship.
