Birmingham Fairtrade Association
The Fairtrade Foundation

|
At the Church Council on 1st March 2005 it was agreed that the Church would endeavour to become a Fairtrade Church. This means it has agreed to:
- Use Fairtrade tea & coffee for all meetings for which it has responsibility.
- Take positive steps towards using other fairtrade products (sugar, biscuits, fruit and fruit juice).
- Promote Fairtrade during Fairtrade Fortnight - and through other activities whenevr possible.
Sunday morning coffee in particular is an important occasion in the life of the Church and we feel that using fairly traded tea and coffee on such occasions offers not only a quality tasty drink but also gives us ease of conscience, knowing that the producers have been given a fair price for their labour.
We have a Fairtrade stall every second Sunday in the month at the moment although this may increase in frequency in the future.
We stock all the consumable goods in the Traidcraft catalogue and we can stock anything else in the catalogue - ie take orders - for clothes or jewellery.
